What kinds of water fountains are available?
Water fountains are a found in many configurations like tabletop fountains, solar fountains, garden fountains and commercial fountains.  Usually water fountains are found in gardens and outdoors. Water fountains are also featured in restaurants, hotel lobbies and other indoor settings needing a focal point or calming effect.

How can I have a water fountain, but still keep my energy usage low?
Solar water fountains are the perfect type of fountain for those interested in ease of installtion, energy free. Solar fountains are powered by the sun, and are a perfect "Green" solution.

How do I maintain my water fountain?
Water fountains normally require little maintenance. Once they are set up all you need to do is maintain enough water in the basin or bowl of the fountain to cover the pump.  Periodically you need to clean your fountain. The rest of the time you can relax and enjoy the calimng sights and sounds and relaxing benefits of your water fountain.

My fountain pump is noisier than the flow of my water fountain, why?
The main reason for a noisy fountain pump is a low water level in your fountain. Make sure that the water completely covers the pump and proceed to add water until the noise stops. If this does not solve the problem, shift your pump so that it is not in contact with the fountain. You can also place a sponge under your pump or alongside it depending on where it is vibrating.

Do I need to use distilled water in my fountain?
We always suggest the use of distilled water in your water fountain because hard water, eventually, causes mineral deposits to form on your fountain. However, with larger wall fountains or floor standing fountains you can use tap water. In this case, we recommend that you use an additive water treatment product such as Care Free Enzymes or No More Algae in the water to help prolong algae build up and keep your water fresh.

How do I keep my water fountain clean?
Cleaning most water fountains is easy. Generally, your water fountain should be cleaned every two to three months. If you use distilled water you will not need to clean it as often. Begin by emptying the fountain. In the case of a wall fountain you may find it easier to extract the water out with a shop vacuum or disconnect the pump hose and run the water out into a bucket. Next, wipe the basin with a clean cloth or sponge, clean any rocks you may have in the fountain so they are free of algae. Completely remove the pump, cleaning the tubing and the pump body as well. Assemble the fountain, add fresh water and any water treatment products, turn it on and enjoy! Will my water fountain splash on my floor or table?
All water fountains that are approved for indoors should not splash. Generally water splashing is caused by incorrect assembly of the fountain. The directions that come with your water fountain will explain how to properly set up your fountain. Check or adjust the water level in your fountain. This may be a cause for splashing. Be sure your water level is neither too low nor too high. Most fountain pumps can be adjusted for optimal water flow. Splashing can also be controlled with the addition of river rocks or pebbles in the basin of the fountain to control splashing.

Can my water fountain run all the time, even when I am away?
Water fountain pumps designed and built to run continuously. The lifetime of the pump is shortened when it is turned on and off frequently.

Are fountain additives necessary to keep my water clear from algae?
Fountain additives are definitely recommended to keep the water clear, reduce stress on the pump, and prolong pump life, even if you are using distilled water in your water fountain. We offer many products to prevent white scale, algae, and mineral build up at the Water fountain accessories page.

What warranty comes with your water fountain?

Does my water fountain come with a pump? What do I need to make it work?
All water fountains should come with a fountain pump. The only thing you need to provide is the water!

How often do I have to refill my fountain?
This depends on how you run the fountain, the climate you live in, the size of the fountain, and other environmental factors. A good practice is to water your fountain when you water your plants. Dry environments may need watering more often.The most important thing to remember is to keep the pump completely submerged in water at all times.

How do I clean my outdoor fountain?
Outdoor fountain maintenance is more involved than an indoor model. An inside fountain is mostly exposed to dust and fingerprints. An outdoor fountain is experiences the wind, leaves, dirt, animals, rain and snow, depending on your geographical climate.
Check before buying that the outdoor fountain been made specifically for that purpose. Be sure the fountain is is suitable for your climate conditions. On windy or rainy days, inspect the fountain for leaves and debris. Turn the fountain off and remove and inspect the pump for clogging debris. Maintaining the pump clear and free of leaves, dirt, and debris is important for its longevity.
The best way to keep the pump thoroughly clean is to remove it completely. Then using a cloth, wipe any debris or build-up from it. Remove the cover and clean the inside of the pump as well. Access hard-to-reach areas with an old toothbrush.  A few minutes of preventative maintenance on youy pump will go a long way to keep your fountain running smoothly, and prolong pump life.
